I am lost ! Which college should I go to?? ?

Question: I'm an International student and for 2 years I've been studying English in a school just to keep my F1 status, but now I want to transfer to a REAL school, where I can actually learn something. How do I know which college should I go to? I would be interested in Web Design and I've heard of IADT (in Schaumburg...since it's closer to where I live) ..but how do I know if it's a good school or not ?I went on different colleges' sites ,but of course all of them are praising their schools, saying that their the best. I am going crazy and I don't have much time. Can anyone help me?

Answer: The three schools I would recommend are Cal-tech, Harvey Mudd and Rose Hullman:

http://www.hmc.edu/
http://www.rose-hulman.edu/

The above 3 are amongst the finest technical schools in the world (IMHO Cal-tech ties with MIT as the best). Harvey Mudd is just a smidgen below Cal-tech with Rose Hullman just a smidgen below Harvey Mudd. Really though you cant go wrong with any of them. Your choice really comes down to what school you can get into. Cal-tech is hard (you need to be a standout student to get in), Harvey Mudd is not quite that bad, but you still need to be a very good student, and Rose Hullman accepts most students with reasonable grades (ie 3.0 GPA or better).

Thanks
Bill

Others:

I would suggest looking at rankings of web design schools on the internet to see which schools are strong in that subject. A school with strong arts and sciences is going to be a much better choice than a liberal arts school. Not every school is going to be good at everything - I go to the University of Pittsburgh and we have one of the top 5 medical programs in the world, however our law school is pathetic
